To moderate my liveliness, I was enrolled in a dance school when I was five years old; a passion was ignited in me then that still spurs me on to work in the theatre after so many years.
I hope that all the students of our Dance School will be inspired to seek beauty throughout their lives!
Deda Cristina Colonna è regista e coreografa. Diplomata in danza classica al Civico Istituto Musicale Brera di Novara e all’Ecole Supérieure d’Etudes Chorégraphiques di Parigi, si è laureata alla Sorbonne, specializzandosi in Danza Rinascimentale e Barocca. Dopo il diploma alla Scuola di Recitazione del Teatro Stabile di Genova ha recitato in varie produzioni in Italia, Francia e Germania ed è stata solista e coreografa ospite con la New York Baroque Dance Company.
She has staged and choreographed numerous titles from the Baroque and contemporary opera repertoire.
She was Director of the Dance School of the Civico Istituto Brera in Novara from 2008 to 2013. She has been teaching baroque dance and acting for over 25 years and holds courses and master classes in various institutions in Italy and abroad. In 2014 she was Guest Visiting Professor at the University of Stockholm/Performing Premodernity. Since 2021 he has been teaching Gestures and Historical Acting Techniques at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
